Kavachi, born in Sarayköy in Turkey, an artist based in Oberfranken and Hamburg, working with various mediums ranging from temporary installations to performance, video, drawing, and textile-based works. He is interested in the performative and emotional aspects of everyday life and often uses personal experiences as a point of departure to reflect on migration, childhood memories, queer identities, labor, and domesticity. Kavachi collects textiles from friends, family, and their networks, integrating these materials into his work to create new narratives. Care and frustration are important parts of his practice, and his long-duration performances provide platforms for new discussions and interactions.
