Don’t Bother! Don’t Border!

Photo by Iva Kirova Every country has borders but the meaning of them is not the same for everyone. Whenever someone wants to cross these borders, can cross them legally or illegally. Based on this situation, Kavachi performs in the exhibition rooms of the Maxim Gorki Theater and also at the Museum Island located in Berlin. While a visitor is visiting the exhibition in the room or walking around Museum Island, he suddenly rushes forward and draws an invisible border around her/him by making a sound. He creates this sound with his mouth, it is like the sound of spraying. This is repeated many times during the opening of the exhibition and periodically during the exhibition at the different locations. It is planned to document the reaction of the visitors, while he is performing the drawing of an imaginary border around a visitor. The visitors show a natural reaction because they don't know what is going on, so they react sometimes like they are feeling unsafe, frightened and surprised. |
