Today I Am an Artist Tomorrow I Will Be a Dishwasher Today I Am a Dishwasher Tomorrow I Will Be an Artist

Kavachi was on a train from Leipzig to Weimar, coming from setting up his work for an upcoming exhibition in September 2017. He was looking outside through the window at his seat and was thinking whether the installation was set up good or not. He realized in a moment that tomorrow he has to go to work in the hotel as a dishwasher. At his seat in the train, he suddenly realized that he was just shuttling between his plans about his art projects and his work schedule, due to his compulsive second job as a dishwasher. Exactly at that moment, these sentences surrounded him:
Today I am an artist tomorrow I will be a dishwasher today I am a dishwasher tomorrow I will be an artist.
They were quite simple sentences that appeared in his mind but reflected a reality that most artists confront in their life in different combinations. The letters of the sentences were stitched on white fabric under different weather conditions and daytimes during a four-month period in Weimarhallenpark. The work refers not only difficulties of artist's work conditions but also the process of his working as a foreigner, dishwasher and an artist in a performative way. Therefore each stitching is quite an important part of the project.
